It’s been 6 months. The pots have survived,
people now walk here.
Executives from the tech company come here
for their cigarette breaks.
The car drivers who wait here ensure nobody urinates here.
The cynic in you is saying, 'This doesn’t solve
anything. Put a public toilet there'.
Well, it’s not that simple. It costs money, needs
land and water supply and proper maintenance.
Also, many of us do not like to
pay to pee. Like we don't like to pay for parking or road toll. A public toilet is
no guarantee that people will not pee on walls. I
think all Indians understand that!
Our little act has been able to influence where
people urinate, and keep the footpath clean.
